History

Founded in 1908, Sterling Thermal Technology has always been active in the Heat Exchange market.
Today Sterling Thermal is the preferred heat exchanger supplier in many of its target markets. It maintains a programme of continual investment in product innovation, manufacturing plant, design software and staff training.

Timeline

2014 – new website launched

1908 – Thermo Engineers was founded

1928 – Caledonia Investments was incorporated

1935 – Sterling Industries founded

1951 – Caledonia Investments acquired by the Cayzer family

1977 – Sterling Thermal Technology was founded

1988 – Crane Heatex was founded

1994 – Britannia Heat Transfer was formed

1998 – Thame Energy Systems was founded in Thame, Oxfordshire

2002 – Crane Heatex and Britannia Heat Transfer merged to create ‘Britannia Heatex’

2002 – Heat Exchange Industries (aka HEI) was acquired by Sterling Thermal Technology

2011 – Britannia Heatex was acquired by Sterling Thermal Technology

2012 – Thame Energy Systems was acquired by Sterling Thermal Technology

2013 – Caledonia Investments Net Assets of £1.36bn

2014 – Sterling Thermal Technology new website goes live
