Apprentice George shortlisted for the EEF Future Manufacturing Awards

The-Bucks-Herald newspaper wrote an article about one of our apprentices George Perry, 19, a talented apprentice who works for Sterling Thermal Technology has been shortlisted for a prestigious regional apprentice award as part of this year’s EEF Future Manufacturing Awards.
George is in the running for Intermediate & Advanced First Year Apprentice Award. He was shortlisted after impressing judges with his hard work and dedication to his apprenticeship and determination to pursue a career in manufacturing. George is now up against apprentices from across the South East, each looking to be crowned regional winner at a ceremony taking place at Epsom Downs on November 9.
If successful, he will then go to compete with other regional winners from across the UK for the national title which will be announced at the awards gala dinner in London early next year.
George said “It’s such an honour to have been recognised in this way. I know exactly how much hard work and dedication every apprentice puts into their apprenticeship so being shortlisted is very special. I can’t wait to meet the other apprentices and see how I get on at the awards ceremony. My apprenticeship has opened up so many doors. It has given me an invaluable opportunity to pursue a career in an exciting and vibrant sector where I feel my achievements are valued. I hope other young people can see this and are inspired to pursue a career in manufacturing.”
Terry Scuoler, Chief Executive officer of manufacturers’ organisation EEF, said “This is a great achievement by George. It’s testament to his dedication to his apprenticeship that he has been shortlisted for this important award”.
