Our local MP, Mr Rob Butler, visited us
We were honoured to receive our local MP, Mr Rob Butler, at our office and factory in Aylesbury, where we design and manufacture bespoke heat exchangers. The Executive Team, led by CEO Emrah Gozturk, shared an overview of Sterling Thermal Technology’s activities. Emrah highlighted that “our expertise and experience in heat transfer solutions for 100+ years give us the credibility to support our clients”. He also added that we “focus on accelerating our customers’ transition to Net Zero technologies”.
Shaun Clarke led Mr Butler on a tour of our factory. He stressed our strict adherence to personnel health and safety, and responsible environmental protection practices. During the tour, Mr Butler had the opportunity to engage with some of our production staff and see others at work.
As Mr Butler was keen to understand more about how we manufacture our equipment, we gave him the opportunity to meet our colleagues from the engineering, quality, and procurement departments. They explained how we ensure we deliver equipment customised to our clients’ requirements whilst complying with the highest standards. We were proud to show him our diversity. “At Sterling TT, we are passionate about growing and developing talent within the business”, said Olu Baptist, our Commercial Director.
He continued, “therefore, our teams are composed of experienced engineers, but also graduates and apprentices who have undergone our in-house programmes. Mr Butler met some of those on site, e.g. Joseph Lynch, Guy Willson, Ronnie Patterson, George Perry and Kate Fennel. Kate Fennell obtained a 1st Class MEng (Hons) Degree in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Sheffield. She started working in the engineering department and is now responsible for managing the quality inspection function as part of her graduate programme. Mr Butler also spoke with members of our Quality Department. In their discussion, James Mungai (Quality Inspector) shared his successful transition from working on the shop floor to working within the quality team. Harsim Singh’s (Snr Quality Engineer) relocation from India to settle with his family in Aylesbury delighted Mr Butler.
It was a pleasure to welcome Mr Butler; we could see he was keen to discuss what matters most to our people and business. He mentioned in a tweet, “Fascinating visit to @Sterling_TT Aylesbury to see how they design & manufacture bespoke industrial heat exchangers for firms around the world. Good to speak w/ staff & learn how the company’s contributing to the path to net zero, w/ products used in hydro, wind & nuclear power’.
