Supplying cutting-edge technology for a recycling application

We pride ourselves in being able contribute to a more sustainable future through supplying cutting-edge heat exchange solutions to our clients. This time, we are involved in recycling in Southeast Asia.

The challenge

Food waste, a growing challenge in our modern world, encompasses everything from the unused bits of vegetables in a restaurant kitchen to the expired items on supermarket shelves. It results from inefficiencies at every stage of the food production and consumption cycle. But in this wasteland lies an opportunity to turn this food waste into a source of energy.

drawing of the circular economy cycle conceptOne of our clients in Eastern Asia has taken up this challenge. They transform food waste into biogas, a renewable energy source similar to natural gas. Thrown-away food, once destined for landfills, will now be processed into biogas that power generators and illuminate homes and businesses across their region. It’s a transformative journey from waste to power, all while reducing greenhouse gas emissions and mitigating the carbon footprint. But the magic doesn’t stop there. Our client will also produce a valuable by-product from this process: compost. It will find its way into the hands of farmers and landscapers, enriching the soil and enhancing agriculture. Nothing goes to waste. It’s an example of circular economy.

Sterling TT’s heat exchange solution

We’ll be part of the project by designing and manufacturing two high-quality shell and tube heaters. They will be constructed from 316 Stainless Steel, guaranteeing durability and resistance to corrosion. Also, they will bear the ASME U Stamp. This isn’t just a mark of quality; it’s a symbol of excellence that ensures these heaters meet the rigorous standards of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). We’re committed to delivering products that meet industry expectations and exceed them.

We look forward to knowing that our shell and tube heat exchangers play a pivotal role in this transformation, ensuring the process runs smoothly, efficiently, and sustainably. “We’re not just manufacturers; we’re architects of change, designing and manufacturing heat exchange solutions that turn waste into energy and, in doing so, shaping a brighter, greener future for us all”, said our Commercial Director, Olu Baptist.
