Throughout the years, we have honed our techniques and practices to deliver our customers not only cost-effective solutions but also outstanding service. Whether it’s heat exchanger repairs or regular maintenance, we’re committed to ensuring your needs are met with utmost care.
Does your heat exchanger require:
We can carry work at our manufacturing sites or your site, depending on the circumstances and what is more convenient for you.
Over time, your heat exchanger will naturally accumulate some wear and tear. Depending on various factors (e.g. the frequency of use, the harsh environments, it could be at varying levels of operating efficiency. To keep your heat exchanger operating at full capacity, you should conduct regular maintenance checks and repair it as needed.
When it comes to replacing your heat exchanger, there is no set period for when you should do this. It depends on the damages you can detect including cracks, corrosion, water leaks or unusual noises (rattling or banging sounds). Damaged heat exchangers not only will reduce the process efficiency but could lead to unsafe conditions. However, as a general rule, it is suggested that you should replace your heat exchanger after 10 years of continuous use.

Our aftermarket team offers various services to ensure you get the most out of your heat exchanger. Our team of experts can assist you, whether it be advice or the shipment of an essential part.
Is there something wrong with your heat exchanger? The first step is to diagnose the problem. For that, we offer test, inspection and report (TIR) services. The report will detail the most cost-effective solution to get your heat exchanger back in service.
We will offer to repair it by addressing leaks, damaged tubes, clogged passages, or faulty seals. When possible, we’ll reuse existing parts to reduce your cost. The goal is to get the heat exchanger back to a functioning state with minimal cost and disruption.
Should you want a more comprehensive service, we’ll provide a full inspection, cleaning, and restoration of your heat exchanger to bring it as close as possible to its original condition. We may replace or clean multiple parts, not just the damaged ones. On this occasion, our goal is to extend the life of your heat exchanger and improve its efficiency.
Where needed, we test and certify for compliance, ensuring the heat exchanger is left in optimal condition and meets all your requirements.
Heat exchange technologies improve over time. You can request an investigation from us into how to improve the thermal performance of your heat exchanger. This may involve changes to the design (e.g. by increasing the surface area) or modifications to the materials (e.g. more corrosion- resistant).
The objective is to enhance the performance, durability, or capacity of your heat exchanger. We’ll ensure your heat exchanger operates in line with today’s expectations and that we maximise its efficiency.
We provide like-for-like heat exchanger replacement services. This means we can replace your existing heat exchanger with a new unit that matches the design, specifications, and performance characteristics of the original. Essentially, the new heat exchanger will be a direct replica or equivalent of the old one.
Don’t worry if your original equipment was not designed or supplied by us, we can still help you. We may carry out a site visit to collect some performance data that we will need to produce an accurate quote. If appropriate, we’ll even let you know if your heat exchanger could benefit from upgrades to improve its thermal performance.
Finally, Sterling TT offers spare parts for virtually any equipment we supplied, but that’s not all. If you have had equipment delivered under any of our previous names (including Thermo Engineers, Heat Exchange Industries (HEI) and Britannia Heatex), you can still access the support of our aftermarket team. Our historical records are comprehensive and up to date, so you can trust that we can assist you effectively.
At Sterling TT, we want any aftermarket services to cause as little disruption to you and your company as possible. That means we provide our services quickly and, wherever possible, on your site.
Our experienced engineers work in various disciplines and industries, complying with all necessary regulations. Your heat exchangers are in good hands with us.
