An incredible 2020 year!

2020 has been a year with a lot of surprises and challenges. We had a year where a virus appeared far away on the horizon in January and escalated rapidly into a globally crippling pandemic by March. “We had to adapt to new ways of living and working, which required us to be creative, collaborative and considerate of each other. I was impressed to see evidence of these approaches when I first joined the Sterling TT team in April” commented Emrah Gozturk, CEO. He continues “when we reached the end of 2020, I was proud and still am, of the work we have done against the all adverse effects of the year”.

The Sterling TT team has worked through the pandemic, and we delivered critical products to our clients in sectors like energy, oil & gas, and food. And, “at the beginning of this new year, we would like to thank our clients for having continued to work with, support and believe in us. As an example, we must say that we had an amazing October! We received significant orders from Brush SEM in the Czech Republic for our heat pipe technology Avantair. Some of these advance air-to-air coolers will be floating on a converted FPSO in Senegal’s the first offshore oil development called Sangomar. Other Avantair units will be installed on an FPSO to be in the Bacalhau oil field (previously known as Carcara) approximately 185km off the coast of Sao Paulo in Brazil” said Michael Allman, Group Sales and Marketing Director.

In addition to these, the power generation and defence sectors did not let us out. GE Grid Solutions in the UK awarded us orders for transformer coolers. EDF Energy Nuclear Generation Ltd asked us to provide titanium tube bundles for installation at the Heysham 2 power station and Omnicane Thermal Energy Operations (Mauritius) Ltd approached us to assist them with repairs to generator water coolers (CACW). Simultaneously, the UK defence sector asked us to support it with heat exchangers for use in the T23, T26 and T45 programmes for the  Royal Navy.

We can credit these successes to who we are. As you probably know, Sterling TT is a UK based business that does all its designs in-house. We do not subcontract design work. We work to the highest standards and deliver the quality products expected from a professional European manufacturer. Although we design and manufacture in the United Kingdom, we are proud of the worldwide reach that our heat exchangers have secured.

So, in many ways, 2020 was a challenging but interesting year. As we look ahead to 2021, we are excited about the future for our company. We will be moving to capture the benefits of all the changes; maybe more than we did in the past. We will continue building our capabilities to do things better and faster, investing in our people to exceed our clients’ expectations.

Finally, the Sterling TT team would like to take this opportunity to wish you a peaceful and prosperous New Year.
